Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Unlimited Webhosting Ltd., UK. The provider processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. The server records technical data about each request so that we can deliver pages, find faults and defend against attacks.

4

Cookies and similar technologies

Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working, for example to remember your cookie choice or to protect forms. We do not need your consent for these.

Analytics and marketing cookies are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through [the cookie settings link in the footer]. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, although some features may then not work.

Analytics

With your consent we use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It records how visitors use the site so that we can improve it. Google may transfer data to the United States. This is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google is certified. If you decline analytics cookies, we do not load it.

6

Trial, Viewer and contact forms

When you request the trial or the Free Viewer, we ask for your name, email and country, and optionally your company and phone number. The forms are provided by Zoho Corporation and our data is stored in Zoho CRM, hosted in the European Union. We use the data to send you the download link, to support your trial and, if you agree, to send you product information. A captcha protects the forms from abuse.

If you email us or use a contact form, we use what you send to reply to you.

7

Orders and payments

When you buy a licence, we collect the details needed to issue the licence and an invoice. Orders are processed through Zoho. Card details go to the payment provider and not to us. We must keep invoices and related records for 7 years under Austrian tax and company law.

8

Newsletters and marketing

We send product news and invitations only if you have agreed, or to existing customers about similar products as § 174(4) TKG 2021 allows. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and you can also tell us at [privacy email address]. Unsubscribing does not affect earlier processing.

9

Embedded videos

Some pages include videos from YouTube, operated by Google. A video loads only after you consent, and Google may then set cookies and receive your IP address and the pages you view. See Google’s privacy policy for details.

10

Who receives your data

We share personal data only where needed and under data processing agreements, with these categories of recipient:

  • Hosting and IT providers
  • Zoho Corporation, for CRM, forms, orders and email
  • Google, for analytics and video, only with your consent
  • Our tax adviser and accountants, for bookkeeping
  • Authorities and courts, where the law requires it

We do not sell personal data.

11

Transfers outside the EU

Where a provider transfers data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an adequacy decision, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, with additional safeguards where needed. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards.

12

Security

We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and regular updates. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information by unencrypted email.

13

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
  • Have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
  • Have your data deleted (Art. 17)
  • Restrict processing (Art. 18)
  • Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, or to direct marketing (Art. 21)
  • Withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3)), without affecting earlier processing

To use a right, email [privacy email address]. We reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

You may also complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, email dsb@dsb.gv.at. You can also complain to the authority in your own country.

14

Providing data and automated decisions

You do not have to give us personal data, but without a name and email we cannot send a trial link or fulfil an order. We do not make decisions about you by solely automated means, and we do not carry out profiling that has legal or similar effects.
